Let's use a 2000 years old religious story to educate bigots today!

Maybe we can also encourage them to use 2000 year old science and medical practices to cure modern disease and aliments. Got Syphilis? Rub some camphor oil on it!

Or how about 2000 year old inventions? You bigots want to travel across the Atlantic? Okay, here's a 2000 Umiak. Have at her!

I saw this a few days ago. Jesus is so unlike many of his followers.

It's more than just a "story" to some.

It's easier to convince them within their beliefs than convince them that their core principle is wrong. I honestly have no problem with with a religious person that doesn't hate.

No one's going to be convinced by this, though. It may be used to justify Christian acceptance of homosexuality, but only for those who already accept it. I doubt it's going to change anyone's mind, really, unless they are on the fence about it.

Still, it's an interesting interperetation. I hope they have the resources to back it up.
