Default Where's it legal?

Just wondering what countries allow gay marriage? And what countries currently have gay marriage or gay rights legislation pending or in the works? Thanks!!!!

Yeah the US is tricky because some cities allow gay marriages to be performed there and others honor them. Some states even have laws against sodomy (correct me if I am wrong, i think that just means gay sex) because apparently some people still have stone age beliefs about homosexuality. But surveys show that most Americans believe in marriage rights for all and it is mostly older people against it. Mostly because of religious beliefs ( which is why church and state were seperated). Sorry I am rambling, the argument gets me heated. Anyways welcome to EC!
Best of Luck,
Paul

All remaining sodomy laws were struck down by the Supreme Court in 2003.

The definition of sodomy varied state to state. In some states it just included 'gay sex' but in others it might be anything that isn't coitus.

Mostly unrelated but interesting fact: The native Americans not only allowed gay members, but saw homosexuality as a blessing, many of their greatest leaders were gay.
that is all

I think that, once my generation is the eldest, bigotry based on sexual orientation won't be nonexistent but it will be like racism is today in western society. Still there, but equality rules.
