    That's really heartwarming, I'm incredibly jealous I couldn't take part =[
But with that said if I ever got the chance I'd love to volunteer just so I could be a part of it!

I've been the typical 'stay at home in my room, have anxiety, depression, never take sports or camp or activities' trans, so something like this would have helped immensely.

    We need more of these.

This a wonderful venture! I just wish something like this could never end for these kids. They need to be with one another much more often than just "camp". If only they had their own schools too! That would be really great!

However, Kudos to the camp idea anyways! :eusa_clap

I have mixed feelings about that. I understand the ways that it would be beneficial to transgender kids, but I also think that segregation causes at least as many problems as it solves.

As long as their safety and security can be guaranteed, then integration would be most healthy, overall. However, if their psychological serenity and physical safety can't be assured, then all bets are off. Back to segregation!

Eternal segregation leads to no understanding. If blacks had been kept segregated from whites, then there would never have been the widespread decline in racism.

Thank god they weren't all lynched, whipped, and shot, so that at least some could still have faith enough to want to integrate!

This is genuinely awesome. Coming from the environment that I do, where I am 22 and my parents still don't know I'm trans or accept being gay, I want to congratulate these parents on accepting their kids enough to send them to a camp like this. These children's parents are the unsung heroes here, and I'm glad that at least some transgender individuals are lucky enough to feel home support.

Exactly the same for me. Something like this would have changed my life. I'm happy for them.

  15. Thank goodness when I first read the title I thought it was one of those religious right camps that tries to cure LGBT people.

    This is amazing

Maybe if they lived there year-round it would be a problem. But give these kids a break, its just camp. Let them have some measure of peace.
