I stumbled upon this really great video analogy just now, and couldn't find a post about it here yet, so here you all are.

Cool video, and while I think the analogy is a little over the top, it still has some value.

I hear that us lefties have the edge in some fighting and martial arts anyways.

I think it is safe to say that if a Seth Macfarlene cartoon satirized intolerence towards left handed people, as they did in american dad, it is okay to be left handed.

    How curious.

I'm left handed, and that never been an issue. Didn't know there were people that thinks it's a bad thing, until I remebered one time at middle school when some girl from my class told me something like "left handed people die first, you know?" and I answered something like "first, but happier".

Anyway, the only thing that makes me angry about people talking about left handed, is that people consider that if you are left handed you do everything with that hand, and I got tired explaining that left handed my apply to writing and that kind of things, but everything else depends on wich side you learned to use it for. For example, I write with left hand, but when playing baseball, I use the bat right handed, because I learned to do that. Whe I was in my kung fu classes, I learned to use the bo with both hands, but for some reason people thought I used it only with my left hand.

And I can go on, but I think this was not the matter to start with.

ha. ^ pretty ingeniously descriptive of said era.

i think of course it's ok to be left handed. though i'm really wanting to train myself to be cross-dominant. it wasn't until a month ago that i found on Wikipedia, their article on 'Anti-Left handedness'

Yes, I don't know of anyone in modern times (except for my grandfather's generation) who has been systematically discriminated against and threatened violence because of her sinistrality. Queers get that all the time.

I've been treated badly because of my sexual orientation and sometimes my gender expression, but not outside of fencing for sinistrality (butthurt opponents will tell me that I only won because they "don't know how to deal with lefties").

...errr....that's not what the video's getting at. It's actually in a way making an analogy that just as left-handed people were discriminated against for being different many many years ago, now LGBT are being discriminated against, beaten, cussed at, etc. So honestly, I'd say the analogy is spot on.
