The policy is bad and needs to be reworked. Students should always be able to defend themselves using any means necessary when proportional to the attack including lethal force, and assault should be an expulsion offense on the first time, with charges being filed with the police.

I believe the student should have the right for reasonable self-defence while being attacked/bullied. It just makes no sense that the victim, when protecting themself, has to withstand punishment too.

It only makes sense for evil or pusillanimous school administrators. See "zero tolerance."

A person commented on the website that the matter "was resolved In the student's favor" after a lawyer got involved. All she said was the school administrators are going to receive LGBT training. So I hope the suspension was lifted.
