    The following qoute is one of the best I have read in a long time with regards to bigotry in organisations. It comes from the Rabbi Alexis Berk after US Synagogues & other Jewish Organisations terminated their relationship
    with Boy Scouts of America over homophobic policies 17th November 2012 I've included a link to the news report at the bottom!

    I can’t participate in religious experience that uses religion as a hook

    Finally. This is great news. They're gonna fall like a house of cards, unless they decide to get rid of that dumb policy.

    Couldn't agree more Confuzzled, what with UPS doing the same and I believe there's other's too. It's what is needed!

    My thoughts on Boy scouts' stance on homosexuality: It's a private organization. They should have the right to refuse membership to whoever they want for any reason. Likewise, anyone else should be able to make clubs that refuse heterosexuals, or white people, or Christians, or republicans.

    The bigger issue with the BSA is they get very special deals (special dispensation) from government. Tthus, they should be subject to those restrictions. I agree that IFF they were a completely private organization, they could restrict their membership however, they aren't because of the special dispensation. They get a lot of deals like free meeting space in government buildings, or $1 anual leases for camps.

    Hm, I was not aware of this. It's funny that the BSA opposes homosexuality when so many boys scouts have their first homosexual experiences through the organization.
