I hope that this lawsuit is successful. It would be great to finally see some of these conversion (so-called) therapists held accountable for their actions.
I hope they win, these people need to see that they can be held accountable for what they've done. I know a few people who went through conversion therapy and it really messed them up and they're still trying to get their lives on track years later.
The comments on that article are even worse thus one for example :Oh well if I had the authority all you had to do is ask nicely and I might. But since I've been assaulted for the last 10 years with gratuitous gay crap on tv, movies even when they don't fit the plot. And the never ending assault on family life, and the Chicken sandwich(The CHICKEN SANDWICH) Really!? Hell if you ask me, if the Gays had any more damn rights, I'd be asking them before I do any thing. How can we give them less rights, is getting to be the question. "Quit while you're ahead" is lost with you people. Geesh I wouldn't be surprised if Obama is Gay at this point.
Just after this one comment all I can think is, "Hi Misanthropy, it's been awhile." And yes, obviously I hope they win and that this case results in these counsellors being completely discredited once and for all as well.
I've read a few articles online about the case, and it seems the counselors being sued are not licensed to begin with - so they can't be punished by any professional organization. The descriptions of what these young men have been through is absolutely horrific - I hope that they win.
