Some worrying news, but I suppose the message to take from this is to get tested regulary.

Well yeah, that, and also wear protection so you're not getting HIV in the first place. People are unaware they even have HIV and end up having unprotected sex = record HIV numbers.

And the answer is what everyone knows anyways: don't have unprotected sex.

I read somewhere that 50% of young people in the U.S. with HIV don't know that they have it.

It was recent, I'm just too lazy right now to look it up again.

Basically, what it comes down to is if you're on the dating scene and meeting a new person or on the cruising scene, always assume your partner is either lying about or does not know his STI status.

How many of us remember when HIV first hit the news and the amount of public information films and programmes about HIV and AIDS on TV? It was everywhere. Every TV Doctor was talking about it etc!!

Now the only time it's mentioned is World Aids Day! You used to see the Red Ribbons in so many different shops in the UK and now you hardly see them. This year I bought a glittery one from the Terrence Higgins Trust site and found out there that you could buy the Red Ribbon from HMV! When I did go to the shop, there was no poster saying they were selling them. Nor was one member of staff wearing a ribbon!!! Shameful!!

And only last week I heard on the radio of a heterosexual man gave his girlfriend HIV. He knew he was carrying it and still had un-protected sex with her!

The number of people who have HIV is very high in this country, not just gay men! And the news below is just tragic!

World Aids Day: 25,000 people in the UK don't know they have HIV

This is bullshit, HIV should be decreasing. Always use a condom and stop fucking around so much, idiots*! :tantrum:

*I mean everyone, not just UK men.
