A friend of mine posted this link on Facebook, and it gave me warm fuzzies to read, so I thought I'd share it with you folks. I love this guy's take on the issue, and though I'm not sure I share his optimism, it's still reassuring to read.

It's sad that we're lagging so far behind, but this is a nice pick me up.

"But in that moment, I got to choose. I was asked to choose, asked to pick whether for the duration of that conversation I wanted to be approached as a he or as something else. And I knew that whatever answer I gave, it would be honored, respected, taken seriously."

If only after I explained why I want to not be called a woman they would just respect that much! Is it so hard to leave out that one word? I am not asking for a change in faith or beliefs, just one word...I didn't ask to say I am a man. I couldn't even say how much it would mean to be called by the right pronouns. I wouldn't cringe and feel akward if they did. That's all...nothing big.
