In a very unsurprising move, a country other than the United States has done something positive for the LGBT community. This time it's Germany. Once again, it was the courts, not the national legislature, that gave Germans a little bit more of the fairness their constitutional system is supposed to guarantee them. So yet again, constitutional law and the courts deliver, and direct democracy proves to be an embarrassment. How's that CDU/FDP/CSU coalition going?

  2. I wish America had German courts.
