Michigan's Odawa Indians tribal council has voted to allow same-sex marriage under tribal law. If the tribal chairman accepts it, the tribe will join Oregon’s Coquille tribe (started same-sex marriages in 2009) and Washington state’s Suquamish Tribe (2011).

Many Odawa Indians live on the other side of the border in Ontario, Canada where same-sex marriage is already legal. Same-sex marriage is also legal in Washington.

Do you think American Indian tribes allowing same-sex marriage have had/will have any influence on the states' perceptions?

    *ponders* ... probably not.

Native American media coverage is generally swept over by the populace here. :frowning2:
