Archbishop Justin Welby speaks of same-sex challenges for Church

The Most Rev. Justin Welby said to the BBC on the eve of his enthronement as the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, Leader of the 3rd Largest Christian Church in the World (Anglican/Episcopal Church), that he was "deeply challenged" by the church's position that it is formally against "active homosexuality".

This is seen by many as a softening of the Church's official position.

If only Catholicism could ever catch up :rolle:

While, that archbishop of Canterbury is deeply challenged by this, the pope is just like "no, we're not supporting that stuff." :tears:

Interesting. Well, it's a start at least.

Yeah, its interesting. But while I'm glad that this hints (very slightly) at an improvement for gay christians, this shouldn't ever have been a problem if there had been proper church/state separation in the first place. The church of England doesn't have control over the definition of marriage, except over the marriages it performs.
