LGBT News Transgender teacher's possible suicide

Signed it. This is really sad, especially since I remember reading bits of the aforementioned article way back. Shit like this needs to stop.

Apparently they removed the first article from their website after she killed herself. They then wrote another article and misgendered her and when talking about her transition they put the word in quotes.

 

Signed it. I'm becoming so, so tired of ignorance. I'm sick of how transgendered people are treated like a subspecies; It's sickening.

That's not fair to anyone! How could someone just open up such a sensitive subject like transitioning in front of the public! That's a complete invasion of privacy!

 

Forget being fired; he should be arrested. It's against the law to publicly deface someone. It doesn't make it okay to do so if the person whose professional reputation (not even going to get started on how Ms. Meadows must have felt) you ruin is trans.

 

Will humanity never cease to find ways to turn my stomach?

I'm so tired of hearing about things like this happening in the news more and more. It's upsetting that this is 2013 and trans* people are still being treated like this.

 

It is my hope that all this will look as stupid in fifty years as the racism of the early 20th century.

I especially hate it when papers add "quotation marks" to the subject's name. It's silent mockery.
