Omg, on that second panel on the strip shown, I read "I'm transgender, bitch." X,D

But my dyslexia-stupidity aside, that's actually really awesome!
(And Barbra would be a pretty badass friend to have IRL.)

I actually heard about this on Conan the other night, the joke he made about it was a low blow (hopefully he'll apologize - it offended me quite a lot).

Forever a Marvel fan but DC, good for you! Might have to stop by and pick this up when I get a chance.

I picked this up the other day actually. Quite glad to see that Simone finally added the character she's been teasing for a while. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

    This is wicked cool news.

Although it's wrong :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: No one else remembers Wanda from the Sandman comics (also DC)?

Pretty cool! I have a sizable collection of comics at home, so I'm glad to see that trans* people have a bit more visibility in comics.

    The Card thing is complicated.

Card the man is an ass who openly says LGBT people shouldn't enjoy full citizenship because of their "crimes", no due process involved. Full stop.

But I don't think anyone should be blacklisted because of their political beliefs, even if they're really over the top like Card's has been. I mean that's really McCarthy red scare territory.

But I do think it was a dumb move on DC's part to give him work now that he has become an activist. And I think boycotting DC's Superman stories and the online petition were the right thing to do. I'm glad people made some noise. I don't think I would have known OSC was openly homophobic if it weren't for this issue. So maybe this will backfire for OSC.

I don't think that should stain DC's reputation forever or take away from how cool what they're doing now is though. Having a transgender front character is cool no matter what has happened in the past. DC's done a lot of good before anyway. I mean right around the time The Sandman was around, they were trying really hard to be the good guys. They had an openly gay Green Lantern, Alan Scott. And come to think of it I remember Kyle Rayner being bi curious.

    That's awesome!

And I didn't know that Card was anti-lgbt. Dammit. I really love Ender's Game. I hate it when I find out disappointing things about people who's work I like.
