LGBT News Transgender Woman Arrested for Exposing Breasts, Jailed With Men

I'd sue, it's blatant discrimination. If she's "technically a man" then why would you charge her with showing her breasts?

 

Because if she was really a man, wouldn't they be 'moobs'?

Hm, yeah, odd logic that. If they saw this person as a man, there would be no problem with going shirtless or whatever, yet apparently they don`t? Then why jail her as a male?
Some people just don`t own logic, and unfortunately you cannot just buy it from a regular store.

Her lawyer's going to have a field day with this.

They can't treat her as a man if they charge her with a crime that's only illegal if you're female.

 

How awful!! Not only is it blatant discrimination, but she could be in real danger being placed in a men's prison. Also, as Tim just said, they charged her as a female but they're now treating her as a male.

Another thing that this made me think of is, what if she had been an intersex individual as opposed to transgendered? How do these prisons treat people with ambiguous genitalia? It's a matter of respect for a person's gender identity, as far as I'm concerned. This is just as bad as the fact that most countries don't currently have provisions in place to allow transgendered people to indicate as such on their passport, drivers licenses, or other forms of ID.

 

Yep, that's screwing her over both ways. If they want to say she's "technically" a man, then it's "technically" legal for "him" to bare his chest even if he has perky, voluptuous titties.

I can't even begin to imagine how the authorities arrived at the conclusion that they did though. Terrible story.

 

I wish I could say I was surprised.

 

Are they friggin STUPID?! Do they realize what they've DONE locking this person up in a cell full of MEN?!?! They need to fix this shit!

I feel the same and sad about it. Originally I thought an old thread might have been revived since this happened a while back in Tennesse I think it was.

 

They could at least put "him" in the correct prison....sheesh! I hated reading this...I feel so sorry for "him"
