Another Oregon Baker Denies Baking Wedding Cake for Gay Couple: VIDEO| Gay News | Towleroad

And again it's just as ILLEGAL (not to mention morally WRONG) as it was for the last baker who tried to discriminate and refuse service to a gay couple. What's going on with Oregon bake shoppes?

Here's the idiot baker Pam Regentin's response:

    What a dumbass.

I believe it's ridiculous but we can't hate on her...otherwise we're no better than she is.

But weddings are so important and so happy... Why do people have to make such big dummies out of themselves like this? What's wrong with two people in love? Nobody is hurting anyone and it's just... stupid... :frowning2:

I believe she also has the right to have her business license revoked and get a fine/jail time.

I would like to see how people would react if Jews were refused a wedding cake: after all, Judaism is not according to "Christian values". These bakeries need to be accepting, or close down/face heavy fines.

Hating someone being hateful is different to just hating someone.

I should point out that gresham is portlands sweaty armpit, and generally, a douchebag area, and the Mt. Hood area is the closest thing northern oregon gets to 'deliverance'.

it doesnt surprise me. the mt. hood area ranked surprisingly high in homophobic tweets on a recent map for an area mostly sparsely populated.

This is why I love living in Canada! But seriously, this stuff is just atrocious... I think they should make an example out of that bakery and prosecute it to the full extent of American law. Maybe then other bakeries will learn their lesson.

Well, easy solution, when they find someone willing to make them a cake, make a big deal out of publicly advertising it, so that other LGBT couples go there too. Then the tolerant cake-makers will get more costumers, more money and it will all be well, and other LGBT people will be spared the disappointment of going somewhere that won`t cater to them anyways.

Yeah, uh... no. That whole notion of "hating people makes us as bad as they are" just doesn't work. What if she'd killed someone who was gay? Would hating on her be acceptable then? Point being, people are allowed to hate people who are persecuting them for no damn good reason. It is NOT the same thing as hating on GLBTetc people because "omg gross" or "god says no".

I am sometimes ashamed of my state... this is one of those times.

I agree, in principle, with what Revan is saying.

Even if she did kill someone who was gay, for being gay, keep in mind that she is doing what she believes, in her mind, is the right, just, and morally correct thing to do.

It's reasonable to hate the act , but the person behind it isn't doing what she's doing out of hate; she's putting her money where her mouth is, and holding to a set of moral guidelines that, to her, are important and the right thing to do.

To her, refusing to sell a cake to a gay couple is no different than the many gay people refusing to buy from Chick-fil-a.

We can condemn her actions, because they are morally wrong, but we can also show compassion for her misguided and bigoted beliefs. And we're a lot more likely to get her to come around to our way of thinking if we approach her bigoted beliefs with compassion than if we just express hatred.

selling and buying arent the same thing.

one has a right to decide they dont want to buy from a product, and that is fine. however, to discriminate against someone, and say they cant buy a product is vastly different.

it is why we had the civil rights act of 1964 to deal with racial discrimination by weakass shits who are inferior mentally and morally to the black people they were trying to bar from their buisness.

I dont see why this is news. She has her beliefs, and she's completely entitled to them. No one is being oppressed by her actions. They are free to go elsewhere for their cake.
