    If the board decides to issue the letter, file suit for a violation of the student's constitutional rights. Punishing a teacher for informing students of their rights would give the impression that they cannot utilize these rights, which is in and of itself a violation of those rights.

    I filled out a survey like that in high school, but it was anonymous. I appreciate that the school was trying to identify problems so they can prevent suicides and help troubled kids, but the way they did it is messed up, it needs to be optional.
