This is good news, despite what the US Supreme Court rules:

In CA, 58 now support gay marriage, 36 percent are against it.

Yeah, and it's nice to see the shift in older voters, as well. Things seem to be moving, slowly in the right direction.

The US population is about 302 million; the current states that allow gay marriage have a combined total of 50 million residents, if you add CA, this will make it about 88 million, or about 29% of the US, by population.

Speaking of, the Supreme Court's ruling is said to be sometime this month, is this accurate?

This is a good sign of things to come in my opinion. From what I know about the justices, I think I know which way they will (probably) vote on DOMA and Prop 8.

Strike Down/Repeal Votes: Sotomayor, Kagan, Ginsburg, Breyer,

    Toss Up: Thomas, Roberts, Kennedy

    Keep DOMA/Prop 8: Scalia, Alito

There's no real way of knowing, but based on how they've voted and said in the past, this is what I can see. We only need one toss-up judge to side with us.
