Yes, that's exactly what they want. But when they want that, they aren't accused of having a "heterosexual agenda."

Huh, I was in Scouts, and I never heard of these Royal Ambassadors, or rival groups...must be a southern thing. I think the BSA is pretty well established, and isn't going to really suffer a whole lot from some crabby southern Baptists having a hissy fit. But it is sad to see them try to create their little cells of indoctrination...

How did the south ever get this way, anyway???

I'm in Scouts, but my parents are homophobes. If I come out now, I will be disowned.

    Same here. Woot.
Funny thing is most of my friends are Baptist or Catholic and they Re 100% okay with gays. The church failed raising one generation to be anti-gay. Yay.

Well the current generation has grown up with people being out on TV and the like, they see it as normal. For example seeing a normal gay guy on TV is more relatable that some vague words in an ancient book

There wouldn't be this issue of losing fundraisers if the government in America was reasonable and actually acted upon that freedom bs they keep going on about and banned discrimination like this. The amazing thing about the boy scouts is not that eventually after a really long time they allowed gay kids to join but that it was legal in the first place for them to discriminate. And I still find it amazing that they ban gay adults, where is even the the logic in that. It none of the business which sex people f**ck.

  12. Why am I not surprised?
In my opinion the whole scandal of this recent issue isn't that they did not allow Gay members in, but that it was still legal for them to discriminate against homosexual youth. However, if they had not allowed (eg) Asian youth in or blue eyed youth to join then the whole country would be up in arms at how outdated and plain ridiculous that was.
Well, at least things are changing... at the speed of a glacier at the moment, but it's a start.

We should start accusing them of that. Not all heterosexuals, obviously, but the groups for which it is true.

This is exactly the sort of thing made me shy away from organized religion...too many rules, not enough love. Sometime after I had stopped going to church, a new preacher in town asked me:

Him: Young man, Do you go to church?
    Me: No sir.
Him:Why not?! (which felt kinda harsh)

I gave him some bulls**t answer so he would move on. Anyway, It's good to hear that the BSA is taking a step in the right direction.
