The locals have the right to remain silent. Anything they say can and will be used against them on Internet forums.

Was it just me, or did the blonde women who said she moved to porterville to raise her children with traditional vlues bear the physical hallmarks of meth abuse?

Well shit, if they think a "heterosexual pride" month is a good idea, then let's not half-ass it. Let's have a White history month too... take pride in all the good our ancestors have done by dehumanizing, subjugating, enslaving, and exterminating other cultures and peoples...

My thing is since gay pride comes in all the sudden, some of these straight people are like "We want a pride month too!" so childish

they never asked for it before and you never saw white people asking for a month of there own.

I've heard white people say that, actually. Well, more specifically (in relation to Black History month), "We need a White History month!"

My response to crap like this: "Every month is white history month." and "Every month is straight pride month."

It all comes from a sense of straight or white privilege. People believe that if other groups, which have been historically discriminated against and oppressed, have a time to celebrate their identities that somehow the privileged identity is under attack.

In the case of "White History Month" the person arguing for such a thing is clearly blind to the fact that 90% or more of the people discussed in history classes throughout the year are white people. Sit in any American School room that teaches history, and unless it has a specific focus on some other area of the world - such as African History or Chinese History - it's going to be focused on Western History, which is primarily white Europeans and those descended from white Europeans.

In the case of "Straight Pride Month" the person arguing for such a thing is clearly blind to the fact that well over 98% of ALL media, social, and cultural attention is focused on heterosexual relationships and lifestyles. Go to any movie and if there is a romantic story line involved, it's almost always going to be a straight romantic story line. Prime Time TV is filled with straight sexual tension and straight relationships. The overwhelming amount of news stories that deal with relationships and sexuality deal with straight relationships and straight sexuality. LGBT people are literally awash in heterosexuality pretty much 24/7 - except in gay dominated spaces. Hell! Even in gay dominated spaces heteronormativity frequently creeps in (frequently as a result of sexist points of view)...

So, when someone from one of the non-privileged groups stands up and wants to honor and have pride in their identity those with privilege get upset. They are so used to being catered too they lack the ability to see the privilege, because to them - it's normal.

Straight people have eleven pride months. They go by the tricky names of January, February, March, April, May, July, August, September, October, November, and December.
