Things like these are why I hate people. This mentality to blame the victims and support the criminals is just outrageous.

 

How people get that mentality... I will never know.

 

I'm so sick of the way stupid people in our society worship athletics and anyone involved in sports, even to the point where they would defend raping a 13-year-old kid to avoid any blemish coming upon their beloved wresting program. And this kind of behavior is widespread across many sports in many schools across this country. Fuck sports, and fuck this juvenile mindset about what it means to be "masculine".

Norwood really IS in the middle of nowhere - in the western part of the state, roughly halfway between Grand Junction to the north and Cortez to the south. I do hope the family is some place much better now. And stories like this make me want to locate the tormentors, and see if I can improve THEIR character with a little bullying...

Interesting. I wonder if we all showed up and gang raped the entire town of 500 if their characters would improve. Would it "toughen" them up? I bet they'd feel differently if they were being the ones raped.

This kind of reminds me of the Steubenville case... People took the side of the attackers because they were athletes, and some of these athletes think they're above the law. Hopefully this case gets recognized and the accused go to trial. So sad to hear a story like this.

People need to stop worshipping athletes as if they are so far superior to others. At my school, athletes get away with bullying all the time. It's complete BS.

 

Before I start, I absolutely hate the word "sodomy" and any derivatives of it. There is evidence this whole shit did not start with Sodom and Gomorrah. It was an active volcano that tore the cities, not gay sex.


This reminds me of a time in High school where a similar situation ended up on the news. It wasn't exactly this bad, but almost the same thing happened. A group of wrestling kids got caught hazing another student, and they were supported by other people who'd wrestled in their "glory days".

"Be a man, will ya!"
"This is much ado about nothing. I was in wrestling in High school, and kids did this all the time" (Well, that doesn't mean that times shouldn't change, now does it?)
"Get back in the kitchen woman, and make me a sammich!"

And people wonder why I never really partook in sports. The wrestling kids had the biggest egos ever. They made the football jocks look like Gandhi.
