    See the link for the percentage changes in marital status in America. It's more noticeable for men, but also jumped for women. Unmarried men in the 40-44 group more than quadrupled from 1970 to 2010. For women in the same age bracket, it more than doubled. It's amazing to think that 1 in 5 men, over 20%, in the 40-44 age range in the U.S. have not married. Even the numbers for 20-24 year old men and women have changed drastically since 1970.

    I posted this because, since delaying marriage or choosing not to partake is increasingly common, people really shouldn't be asking people why they aren't married.

    I'm hard pressed to remember if I've ever asked anyone that. And certainly never of a woman.

    And the numbers from the 70s were scary. That was the decade known for "the Sexual Revolution."
