    In my opinion.

No one deserves the Death Penalty.
And being gay isn't and shouldn't be a crime.

People who sentence others with the death penalty are just as sinister, albeit more "refined" than others who commit homicide.

Well our thoughts on the matter are going to be pretty obvious. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Although I heard homosexuality was legalised in Mali a few years ago) - I seriously doubt the death penalty is still enforced, anyway.

Afghanistan and northern parts of Nigeria too. (jeez, I really need to stop reading the news to kill time)

Just the general ignorance of several governments makes me sad. Not in the "that sucks" way, but in the "oh my god, how on earth could someone be so twisted as to believe that is right?" way.

What the difference between these countries and the Nazis ( apart from perhaps volume). Their killing people because of who they are.

I'll never understand some peoples mindsets. Let people be who they are and leave it alone. How can you criminalize love?

But surely in their religion, killing someone is still just as wrong as homosexuality? Is it not? Homosexuality should not be punishable at all!! Thank God I have no desire to ever step foot in any of those countries. It just sickens me to know that that actually happens in parts of the world :frowning2:.

Okay, I'm just stating the obvious: not every individual in these countries supports the criminalization of homosexuality. And, few as they may be, there are some individuals in these countries who understand and accept homosexuality. I have a massive amount of respect for these few individuals for holding such views despite their society's sick, twisted, fucked up views on homosexuality.

But I have absolutely no respect or sympathy, whatsoever, for the assholes in these countries who support this kind of bullshit. I have more to say about that, but I'd better stop there before I go too far...

I know the death penalty tho it's legal for Homosexual activity in Saudi Arabia it's not always enforced, instead they sometimes just send you to prison for life or like for 20 years. When i had to go to Malaysia to visit family they had posters and they were having workshops for adults for identifying gay men since it's criminalized by 20 years in prison and the recent Ulama in Malaysia is demanding th death penalty.

Bad. I don't think opinions will be very varied on an LGBT site.

Homosexuality is not illegal in Mali. Being a former French colony, homosexuality was completely legal

As for Somalia, the death penalty only applies for areas controlled for al-shabab. In the "free" areas of the country you can get a heavy penalty.

For Uganda, the bill was never passed as the president didn't want the bill to go through "apparently"

The death penalty for homosexuality is in Mauritania though, is that the one you mean?

Saying that though, no executions for any crime has been taken place since 1987

I believe in the death penalty! ...if you've done something completely horrible and atrocious. People need to understand that there is nothing atrocious about love.

My thoughts are it's heinous and crime against humanity. Then again, only humans would do such a thing.

When I read stuff like this, it makes me want to cry. I want to cry for all of those idiots out there who tend to believe such nonsense.

I don't believe in the death penalty at all, especially for something so insignificant as to being gay.

Again, it shows how long we as a HUMAN RACE have to go in order to fix atrocities and actually move towards a brighter future.
