Pretty much summed up in the title. I was wondering if the forum coding could, by default, show either a hyperlink, or the link text itself when showing the "can't play due to no flash installed" error?

It uses Flash, and iOS doesn't support it.

    Definitely aware of that.

What happens though, is I see this:

And I have absolutely no way of finding the video as there is no external link or video description. Which is kind of frustrating.

I didn't realise that was an image at first. >_>

You can still find the video by quoting the post, copying the video ID (which is what should be inside the [youtube] tags), and pasting that into the URL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=... . Not the easiest of methods, but it can serve as a workaround.

Too true. I can live with that in the mean time.

This is actually a issue on the forum end, YouTube updated their player a while back to allow html5 video playback, the reason why it doesn't work on this forum on iOS and android is because the YouTube plugin on this forum doesnt use the updated embedding code, but instead the out of date flash only coding.

Clicking the YouTube link on top of the box takes you to the YouTube page too

It's an ancient plug-in. Hopefully that will get resolved when (whenever) we convert to the new version of the site.
