There's no prohibition about discussing the names of dating sites in PM. In general, we're pretty lenient in what's appropriate to discuss in PMs, the main thing being that EC isn't a dating or hookup site and so conversations shouldn't really be going into a lot of discussion about those sorts of things, nor should they be overly flirtsy or otherwise inappropriate.

The word censoring is sitewide, even in the staff-only areas of the site. Sometimes when the staff has to discuss a particular site or app that's a banned word, we have to resort to using initials or something else to evade our own word censor. So that's why you are seeing the words censored in PMs; it's a limitation of how the word censoring works, not a policy that relates to PMs.

There are other words that aren't dating site names (that I know of) that still get censored, even when we're allowed to use adult language. I remember a thread about the Boston Bombings from last spring, and a word from that was censored. (particular word removed by mod) What's up with that?

    Looks like this: *******

It's because there are certain somewhat commonly-used words that also happen to be the name of apps or whatnot. It's always a judgment call on the staff's part whether or not a word that's got implications of prohibited apps or sites is uncommonly enough used to warrant censoring it. In the case of the word you mentioned, it's a pretty uncommon word legitimately used on EC but has been used in other, not-allowed contexts, which is why it's censored.

I think it falls into a limitation of word censoring tools. Unfortunately, they aren't human, and don't understand context, just pattern matches.
