You can't get a notification via the EC notification system. However, you can get email notifications. In my opinion, email notifications are less convenient, but you they are an option. Though you can't get notifications, you can set EC up so that any thread you post on you automatically 'Subscribe' to. This puts that thread in a list in your "User CP". Threads that someone has replied to will be bolded in the list. To set this up, go to "My Settings" > On the left, "Edit Options" > "Default Thread Subscription Mode" set to "No email notification". This will automatically subscribe you to any thread you reply to, but you will not receive email notifications. If you wish to also receive email notifications, you can set that up below.
