Since pronouns depend on each person's preference, would it help to include a field for pronouns in our profiles? Below the gender field. It could look something like this -

    Pronouns: (enter own choice here)

But things are going fine without it now, so if it's seen as unnecessary (the majority of users is cisgender?), I understand.

Thanks for reading - just thought that might help a bit.

That wouldn't be a bad idea.
Every member should have the form of address that's suits the member itself.

I've actually seen this utilized on other forums before. I'd honestly love to see how it works out here.

I can see that working but I dunno- think it works best when you've got a site where pronouns really factor in (like "Marshmallow posted a photo on her profile")

But for non-binary members, I can see how that'd help. Because then again, when I'm referring to a user, it's nice to know what pronouns they're using so I don't done fuck it up.

At the most liberal of regulations, the most pronouns we should have is three.
    He/Him/Himself
    She/Her/Herself
    They/Them/Themself
These pronouns are the only ones we need.

That would be useful. ^^ I guess I wouldn't want to call someone by the wrong pronouns.

I've found that they/them/themselves can sound more impersonal than someone might want, so if "she" or "he" doesn't sound right to them it can cause problems.

But I like the idea of entering your choice of pronouns.

It'd be awesome to see this implemented.

Another solution is to use Spivak pronouns (1991 version, that's nearly the same of Elverson, 1975)
