how do i post pictures on EC? do i need to post from a host site like photo bucket or can i post directly to EC? thanks
Do you see the little image with the tiny mountain on it at the text box? There just enter the URL of the image and then there will be your pic.
so that's the URL from the photo hosting site? because i don't see a URL for the ones on my computer LOL
You're able to upload them directly from your computer. I have done that. For community safety purposes, all pictures are moderated, meaning that staff members have to actually go in and approve each one. Their turnaround is remarkably good, though. Main thing is to prevent inappropriate things like dick pics. Which I know you're not interested in posting, but that's just the justification of the policy. And it's a very good one that has served us well.
thanks Pret Allez, i fully understand the need for that moderation here with so many of our members being quite young. so about the pics, is it just drag and drop into a post in a tread? or is it a particular process?
Under "Welcome, looking for me", find "Quick Links," expose the menu, and click "Pictures & Albums" You should see "looking for me's Albums" and an Add Album link. Enter a Title and Description for your album. Then in the screen for your new album, click the Upload Pictures link. You will find five "Browse..." buttons to attach pictures directly from your PC.
It is important to remember that photos including oneself need to be uploaded to the site and posted on the forum thorough "attachments". Posting a personal photo on the public forums outside of an attachment would violate the Code of Conduct.
This isn't pertinent to the OP's question - I'm just wondering if this is correct, Gen? I was under the impression that any photos of yourself must be posted in your EC gallery. Honestly, the Code of Conduct is slightly confusing in regards to what types of pictures can be posted on the actual forum and which need to be uploaded to your gallery. No disrespect intended - just want to help myself better understand the rules.
It's no disrespect at all and I'm sorry for replying so late. The difference between "inserting" a picture and adding an "attachment" is that attachments and albums can't be view by non-members. Photos that are uploaded into the gallery and attached to a post are not in violation of the CoC because of that. Personal photos that are uploaded via the insert photo can be seen by all random site traffic, which posses a threat to the member's confidentiality.
