I have tried to quote a portion of a post, but was not successful.
    Example: http://emptyclosets.com/forum/2263887-post18.html
Typically I would want to cite just a portion of the post, but occasionally the whole thing. I not a terribly sophisticated computer person, and would appreciate some help. Thank you in advance.

Do you see this button? [IMG] Try clicking on that in my post and see if you can get it to work. It can just take a bit of practice.

I thought that's what I did before. And I just deleted a few words from yours to see if that works. Here goes nothin'!

OK Luthan. Thank you it worked! I must have done something different when I tried to quote the person in my question.

    [. QUOTE=Carlgustav;2265867 .]
    text text
    [ ./.QUOTE.]

If you used the quote button, you have a text part beginning and ending with the above terms... you can for example shorten the text leaving only the citation you want, but not the above terms including the brackets, they are formatting expressions, showing up as quote later in your internet program.

To jay777: Thank you!! That must have been the problem I had before. As I said before, I'm no computer whiz!
