Someone may have already brought this to light but I'm having some issues with the website and they have rather been numerous in the past few days. I don't think it's my ISP [Frontier (even though I would love to blame them)] But often times, the page would display what is in the spoiler (shown below) and redirect to the desired page seconds later. Has this been happening to anyone else? Spoiler
Usually this will happen when the site is being backed up, which sometimes can last more than 15 minutes. At around what time of the day have you come across this message?
It happens quite a few times a day. It started off being around 11am and 11pm CT. But now it's being slow for me at all hours of the day and displays that message several times a day. Like I posted this around 3:21 so I probably snipped that photo around 3:15pm CT today.
Hi, yeah the times you have indicated, these are the times during which the backup will run. Sometimes, there will be a delay when it starts which of course means it will end at a later time. It shouldn't be slow for you or you shouldn't be having any issues accessing the site outside of these times though. I haven't come across any issues thus far today or this afternoon that would result in the message you have posted. Please let us know if you get the same or a similar message again, and we'll take a closer look at things.
After conferring with my family and have being on other sites, we have determined it's an ISP issue rather than an EC issue. Thought I'd update you on this issue.
Re: Issue (site/server lag) Replying to this thread because the site is actually slow to respond for me right now and it doesn't appear to be during indicated backup times.
We're not having any connectivity issues reported, and I looked at the logs for that time period and didn't see a problem. It's possible that your ISP is having a problem with whoever their peering provider is that connects to our ISP. That's a common source of failures. One thing you can do if you're concerned is check the site Down For Everyone Or Just Me -> Check if your website is down or up?. They check the domain you're asking about from multiple locations. If you see that site reporting it can't reach us, let us know, with the time it's happening, and we can run down what's going on.
Thanks Chip. It appeared that other traffic was routing normally, so that's why I decided to post. That being said; I usually use Is It Down Right Now? Website Down or Not? if that is comparable. They don't have many logs for EC but there last report of a server issue was 'more than a week ago' I was able to post, but it was taking about 15 seconds for post preview and then the actual post. odd fluke? ---------- Post added 19th Jul 2016 at 02:00 PM ---------- (response and loading times seem normal for this session)
