Either my account is somehow messed up, or we can't edit posts anymore? I'm sure that the staff have reasons for this, but I don't quite understand them. I'm pretty obsessive about typing errors, is all.

Yeah I also noticed this. I noticed a few errors and I'm fervently hoping no one notices the spelling XD

We've temporarily restricted ability to edit threads in the hope it will discourage the spammer whose methodology is to post something g and then edit it into an HTML link, thwarting our anti-spam filters that limit HTML posts for brand new users.

We anticipate a more permanent solution that won't inconvenience regular members pretty soon.

I really need to edit one of my posts. I accidentally typed a different word than I meant so my spell-check didn't pick up on it.

Ooh okay, fair enough. Thanks for the reply!

I was just curious because as I mentioned, I'm extremely obsessive about spelling and grammar. It's a bit sad, I know.

Oh, I'm glad I couldn't get on yesterday because I'm constantly making spelling/grammar errors and it kills me. xD

In the intervening time, if you need to edit something, post in Ask the Staff with a link to the post and we'll do our best to fix it. Try to limit it to serious issues, though... it takes time away from important stuff when we have to go in and make these sorts of changes, but we do understand that these things happen.

Thanks, Chip. Like some of the others who've posted here, I'm obsessive about punctuation and grammar. I hope once this issue is resolved, we'll be able to have the edit function back again.

Well, I hope this gets resolved soon or I'm gonna take an hour every post to make sure I didn't do anything grammatically incorrect.
