    Hey peeps,

Shortly we will be implementing Picture Approval on the site. This means that any pictures you upload, whether privately or publicly, will only be accessible once a moderator has approved it for viewing. This is due to members uploading copyrighted pictures, photos of other people without permission and various other photo shenanigans. Hopefully the approval system will remove these problems and will help us keep the gallery feature running smoothly. As there are a high number of moderators photos should not take too long to get approved, and any that do break the rules will not be approved.

Below is a list of pictures that will be declined from EC:

You must not upload pictures if:

    • The images are sexually suggestive, such as nudity that reveals the breasts on women, below the waistline, genitals/pubes, or having visible outlines of private parts/genitals showing.
    • The images include other EC members, unless you are in the picture and you have the permission from everyone in the photo.
    • You have not obtained permission from anybody outside of EmptyClosets who is in a photo with you that you wish to upload.
    • You do not own the copyright for the image.
    • The images are not appropriate for a PG-13 audience and/or includes inflammatory content (e.g. racist, homophobic, sexist, inappropriate themes, et. al.).
    • The image reveals any personal information about yourself, another person or a group of people (whether online or offline).
    • The image reveals the location of your house, school, work or any institution in which you are a member.

This system will be set up within the next day or two.

Oh, and this does not affect attachments that are uploaded onto threads. This is only for pictures being put into galleries.

Does that mean that I should delete the photo of my school?
Coz I made sure not to have street names in the photo..?

    If they aren't innappropriate and/or copyrighted. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I've never tried using the photo backgrounds feature so I am not really sure whether or how it will be affected by the approval system. It is something that will need checking once the system goes live.

I'm unsure on that photo so I've asked the staff to review it and give their input. Whilst it doesn't reveal any street names, a person could find it if they knew what area to look in. I've asked the staff to look into whether it's able to remain or not though.
