Okay what the hell. My laptop randomly does this on BOTH my internet browsers for this site. And i just lost an entire reply to somebody cause of it! I rely on this site as my only support network and safe space so having it be a source of randomly pissing me the fuck off is not something i need right now. Idk how to post screenshots but it says: This site can't be reached emptyclosets.com refused to connect search google for empty closets forum ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" It does this ALL THE TIME and its annoying as fuck. What's going on?
Does this also happen if you don't send screenshots, ie. only send text? If so, are your browsers up to date? The same thing sometimes happens to me, but it's usually due to a slow internet connection. Hope this helps.
Screenshots have nothing to do with it i only mentioned that cause i wanted to screenshot the screen to show the site's people but idk. And honestly i have no idea but my laptop updated itself just a few days ago so it ought to be up to date, plus the laptop itself is only like a year and a few months old. It came with the latest of all the basics. And its only with this particular site - i don't have simultaneous issues with other sites.
You might want to change your network settings. Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P9mZNIf414
Not sure when this is happening for you but the site backs up twice a day at, I believe: 9AM/PM pst ~ 11AM/PM cst ~12AM/PM est It can become very slow and sometimes non-responsive so that might be the problem.
OMG that might be it. Cause i remember it happened before i got in the shower, and i showered at like 11 this morning (i live in the central time zone). That's good to know, at any rate.
It is not likely anything at your end. The backup issue should no longer impact the site as we switched to a more robust server cluster that handles the backup a different way. Since then we have not seen the downtime we used to see. I have seen the problem you are describing myself. It is a transient issue that Rarent lasts more than 3-5 minutes so it has been difficult to track and identify, but we are aware of and looking into it. For what it's worth, I've lost posts too, and I feel your frustration. My short term suggestion is that before you click send, copy the whole post into Notepad or something. That's what I have taken to doing. We are worki g on the transition to the new platform and it is within sight now. When that happens, both hardware and software will change so most likely that will resolve the issue, but we are looking for a solution in the meantime.
