I think the title is explanatory enough but, what happened? There are so many that wont work! Hope I didn’t miss a thread/post already explaining the reason Thanks, WW
Some of them currently live on my server in the UK because I couldn't upload them to the EC server. Maybe you could not access the UK server for some reason (problem with your internet provider) which would explain why they were missing for you. Once I have a proper internet connection here (probably not until the end of July) I plan to put them on the main EC server as I now have full access to it.
The Internet is a mess. Earlier today it was really slow here (like, 14k speed on a 512k connection), therefore I called my ISP's technical support and they told me that there was a problem with the Internet, but that it was not theirs - it was at the international level. Maybe it's because of that. Here the connection was so slow that loading EC's main page took about 5 minutes. I could fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting about 15 times until I got a decent (but still slower than usual) connection. It seems that it's working normally again.
So it isn't loading them. You can try clearing your cache (CTRL+SHIFT+DEL if you use Firefox, through Internet Options if you use Internet Explorer) and see what happens.
If you have parental controls on the PC it may stop access to my server www.emptyclosets.net because it contains a chatroom. Sensible parental controls would block access to the chat room rather than the whole domain, but some take a more basic approach. The dreadful Vodafone 3G thing I am using at the moment (due to no ADSL) has parental controls enabled which I can't turn off, and this prevents access to some content at www.emptyclosets.net including the chatroom and the logo, but not the smilies. It is something I need to consider when we move the chatroom to the same server as the forum - it should probably remain on a different domain so that people can still access the forum even if parental controls block the chatroom
When did you starts to limit number of the smilies to 20?? And it's gonna stay that way? Or is it just temporary?? Thanks.
The limit of smilies is here to stay. There's really no situation where you need more than 20 smilies in a single post. Besides - having too many smilies (100s of them) can cause problems with older computers / slower internet.
OK, I've been away a few days but now things seem to be working ok. I don't know if they are working in the chat room because I havn't been able to get logged on:icon_sad:
