What exactly do you think is too strict?

Besides things such as personally offensive comments, hook up type posts and illegal material, we do allow quite a lot of discussion.

    Hardly...

And you can go and make your own forums, no ones stopping you.

Hmmm...i dont agree, i think its fairly liberal considering that it is for underage children. Im not sure how you could think it was, cos i think all the restrictions on what we type are quite appropriate (for instance, no "adult" pics, cos its ann underage forum, no flaming/abusive messages for obvious reasons)

Maybe you should clarify why you think EC is so strict

Dave has explained it exactly. We cannot allow "adult" discussions on a site that welcomes people under 18. You may not like it, but it's the law and we have to follow it if we want the site to remain.

Therefore inappropriate posts and threads will be removed (as a few have been), and persistent inappropriate posting or chatroom discussions after being asked to stop doing so by the mods, could result in a ban.

I don't know if there are other sites that allow "adult" discussions between people under 18, and if there are I don't know how they manage to avoid legal issues. Maybe you could have a look around and see if there's something out there that would suit your needs better?

I think you got the wrong idea with my post, Paul...I was disputing what ppreston was saying, not what the rest of the community was saying

I was saying that i thought what was/wasnt allowed here was appropriate and im very appreciative of what you moderators/admin people do...I know that cos people here are under 18, were not allowed to have 'adult' conversations, and fully support that...sorry if there was confusion.

No confusion, Dave. I was completely agreeing with you, in particular your description of what is and isn't appropriate here and why.
