Dear members,

We regret to inform you that Shevanel (Joey) will no longer be a staff member on EC.

Unfortunately, he was involved in an online incident with another member that jeaporadised EC's security. As a result, his position on EC was compromised and it was no longer feasible for him to remain on the staff team.

We would like to thank him for all the hard work and dedication he has put into EC, and we hope to see him around on the site as a full member continuing to contribute to the site.

I don't see the need to explain why he will no longer be on the moderation team. In any case, best of luck to him.

i believe the reason for explaining was to stop the ec rumor mill.

I think to stop a rumour mill you have to be more specific than referring to an "online incident" which "jeopardized EC's security" and "compromised his position on EC." Not that I'm thinking the staff will be any more specific--just that the "details" that were given don't really do anything to stiffle rumours.

When a situation such as this takes place, the EC Staff basically has to decide what to say. We often end up erring more on the side of "privacy" than "disclosure". And rumors will start any time there isn't full disclosure. We're pretty well aware of that, and accept it. Just know that Mod Tower is a pretty dull place after all.

These terms being dropped makes me more curious. If it just said "Joey has left the mod team" I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Then again I'm not part of any rumour mills.

Again, knowing that no more details will be disclosed.
