I'm guessing that some were lost because they had to restore from a backup. That's just my guess though.

Snow is correct; but to clarify, it was everything after 6am CT *yesterday*. The 6pm backup (last night) still had the problem, so we had to go back to the older one from yesterday morning. So it really sucks, but it was the only practical way to ensure the integrity of the database. |

I am Central time and I have posts from much after 6 AM yesterday. I have posts from "Today, 02:13 AM" for example. I think it was actually 6 AM today (1/25). I'm not trying to contradict, I'm just saying I have stuff from within the last 20 hours up =P Which is odd, because the message at the top does say 6 AM 1/24, but I have posts from much more recent then that...

Well... the site was up for a short time with the restored database, but when it was still having problems, so if you happened to post during that period, those posts would be available. But the backup they restored from was marked 6am 1/24. And I goofed. Atlanta (where the server lives) is in Eastern time, not Central, so there's an hour of difference there. The other possibility is the server itself might be set to something other than eastern time, so the "6am" backup might run at 6am based on whatever time the server is set at. Bottom line... we lost a lot of posts and messages. It sucks. |
