Hi. I was wondering if there was a way to connect to EC securely, that is, via SSL (https). Basically, I don't want some nosy coworker with sniffing ideas to catch all my traffic. Of course, they can see which hosts were accessed and this being a small company they can easily pinpoint me as the user, but with http sniffing they can get my username and password too, which would not be possible (or would be very hard) with https.

Am I missing something or is https not available on EC? And if it is not, is there any intention to add support?

I am not sure, and I definitely support the use of strong encryption whenever possible. However, I think you should probably consider not accessing this site while you are on the job.

We don't currently support SSL. However, it wouldn't be too hard to implement. I'll add it to the to-do list for when we upgrade.

Great! Yeah, it's not a big deal on vbulletin and considering how important privacy here is, I actually am surprised that it wasn't supported before. But it's excelent that you plan to add the option.

I have complete access to all IT at my company and I would probably know well in advance that someone was trying to snoop around; also, I don't think I'd mind if anyone of the people capable of controlling traffic knew about me.. so it's not a paranoia-full-on situation for me.

At least there're two ways I know. You can use an https proxy, or use a VPN. I haven't tried it before, but I'm sure they will work. You may use Google for more info.
    Good luck!

IT in a company can also remotly bring up your screen and see exactly whats on it. (and with the right software, track every keystorke you make)
