Wassupski peeps! I thought you'd all be interested to know that yesterday (29th) was EC's busiest day ever! On June 17th 2008 we received a total of 1744 posts during that day, and the nearest we had come to matching it was on December 28th when we received 1685 posts. However, yesterday we completely smashed that record and have set a new one! As of 29th December our new record for new posts in a single day is 2408. What's even more interesting is that on December 29th 2011 we received 731 posts, so you can really see the vast growth we have had. During December 2012 we have only fell below 1000 posts per day on 9 days. In contrast, during December 2011 we only managed to surpass 1000 posts per day on 2 days. On Christmas Day 2011 we received 393 posts. This year we received 1072 posts. December 29th also saw us break the record for user activity, as we had a total of 686 different members log in. In comparison 29th December 2011 only had 374 users login during that day. At the time of writing this, we have today received 1480 new posts, and had a total of 539 member logins. We're either going to set new records again today, or they'll be very close to matching the records set yesterday. There's about 8 hours left until we'll know what the stats for the 30th are.
Hahaha making us conscious of these statistics almost makes me want to deliberately attempt to break a new record today.
Awesome! We have such a supportive network here, it will probably continue to grow and reach out even more. People need it these days. Every day. *waves to lurkers* Come on in and feel free to join! <3
Well, I lurk wayyyy more than I post here ... so what better thread to post in. Let's take the year out with a bang and set a new daily post record. (it's only dec 31st here) (!)
... just... try and make the posts *somewhat* relevant and useful, don't just post for the sake of posting. Remember that the staff has to review each post that's made, so while the traffic growth is great for EC's mission, it also puts quite a load on the staff.
Sorry Chip, I didn't mean to infer "post ...just for the sake of posting" .... when I made my original post in this thread. I guess I got caught up in the moment of starting a new year.
