Is it possible to edit/delete blog entries? My GF found out that I go here by snooping in my computer, and so I am a bit concerned about things I have written in my blog that I don`t want her to read. Or rather, it was one line, when I was frustrated after an argument, where I wrote "Maybe blah blah go back to being single and have casual sex, god knows it was easier". It was an in the moment thing, but something she could really give me hell for. Actually, that whole blog post can be deleted. If you could help me with this, I promise to never again blog when I am angry at my GF! :S (Should have realized she was the snooping type)
Hey, Blogs aren't editable or deletable for members, but if you post a thread in Ask The Staff with links to the blog entries you want removing then they can be deleted that way. Martin.
Allowing it would result in a flaw in our security as the blog feature doesn't allow us to keep track of edits in the same way that posts can do. The only reason we allow forum posts to be edited is because vBulletin allows us to detect edits that are made, so if a member posts something that is against the rules then edits it out during that window period in which they can edit their post (I think it's about 15 minutes or so) then staff can still check on what the post was like in its original state. The blog feature, however, has nothing like that, so anybody with ulterior motives and a bit of cunningness could use such a flaw to their own advantage, which then undermines our security and potentially opens a legal-related can of worms that is a pain in the ass to deal with. Martin.
