I'm wondering if there's a way an individual user can get rid of the banner on top of the forum that says "STOP and READ THIS" in red - basically, the yellow banner in Notices? I understand the importance of it, but I've definitely read it. However, it's yellow and red, and kind of annoying to the eyes if you have to see it every time you're on the EC forums.

    Thanks.

After a while you can x it out and it doesn't come back. I wish it did.

I believe that once you hit 50 posts, a red X appears on it that allows you to get rid of it. At least it has that option; we used to have a notification that you could never get rid of.

You can dismiss it semi-permanently after you have made 50 posts

oh, I see! Thanks so much. That makes sense. I guess I should have waited a bit more.. less than 20 posts to go.

It's intentionally designed to be as loud, ugly, and annoying as possible so that people won't share offsite contact info. But in spite of the incredibly loud, unavoidable, in-your-face notice, we issue a number of temporary bans each month for violating the off-site contact policy. We hate banning anyone, and the ugly yellow banner is the best tool we've found so far to get the message across. We're always looking at other solutions as well

Haha that damn thing's been there so long I don't even notice it anymore. Hell, I might even miss it if I were to get rid of it now. >_<
