A friend recently came out to me and I'd like to recommend that they join EC. Problem is I've made some quite personal threads about people that I like and situations that I've been in. Some that I wouldn't want him to see. Would it be possible to hide or delete some of the threads and posts that I've made? EC has really helped me learn to accept myself and I'd like to share that. If not, I guess I can just try support him as best as possible.
its possible. you can ask them to delete them in the "ask the staff" and still recommend him here. I recommended my best friend here but she doesn't use it...for some odd reason.
I guess some people just aren't into talking on forums. I've always been a big fan and a member of many. I just love the ability to share my thoughts thoroughly (or those of others) and have them discussed. Rather than small talk or generic conversation.
If he knows your username, perhaps you could request a username change? Unless it`s very obvious from your threads who you are, it might sort out the problem without a need for deleting threads. You can go through your threads in the statistics on your profile page, and check out which of them that might need editing despite a username change. I think it`s great that you want to recommend EC! This is a wonderful place to be.
Hmm, I suppose you two think you're superior to us multi-forumers, just because you have lives. *glares* jk
