Can I just say that I love this movie with a burning passion? I've struggled with self harm and suicidal thoughts, and Maude's vibrancy really helped me. I don't know, it sounds stupid saying a movie could impact me so much, but this one really has.

    5/5, would recommend.

I liked this movie a lot!
It's funny and morbid and the ending is really neat.

This is still one of my favorite films of all time. Oberlin shows it every year during new student orientation, but I'd seen it back when it was in theaters (a midnight showing during it's cult run.) I've seen it easily 20 times, and for the first probably 10 or 15 times, there was subtlety that I picked up each time. A lot of hidden messages and subtle cues in that film.

Also interesting that the writer/director, Colin Higgins, was gay, and was also the writer/producer of "9 to 5", another hysterically funny movie with a powerful social message.
