I just learned that Hans Christian Andersen was bisexual :eek: and that it is believed that The Little Mermaid symbolizes his inability to have the guy he liked just as a mermaid cannot be with a human Did you know this?? I didn´t! :eek:
I've heard about that. But since its homosexual message is extremely implicit, its well-meaning morals are pretty screwy (i.e. don't ever listen to your parents and run off with complete strangers to be married!)
