With their new single being so awesome, I think the Arcade Fire are going to remain one of the biggest bands in the world so a thread for them is completely warranted. (yes)

You can listen to a leaked version here, with James Murphy producing and David Bowie rumoured to have contributed vocals.

    I'm slightly excited.

I'm happy they're releasing a new album, I love Funerals, Suburbs is nice too. They're not my favourite band but they're great anyway.

ps. love your avatar, the Antlers are awesome too.

I had no idea there was a new album coming but the Reflektor song sounds good. Can't wait.

I imagined 2013 would be a kinda 'meh' year musically but this makes it a lot more interesting.

Oh, awesome. I was actually just looking to see if a new Arcade Fire album had been announced a few weeks ago, but I guess it hadn't been yet. Every three years seems like the pattern for them, haha. I've loved all three of their albums so far, so I'm excited!

Oh yeah... Like I said, I'm not their biggest fan, forgot they even had that record (please don't shoot me)

    I didn't like Reflektor.

I liked the first album, but after that, it seemed to lose something, or seem less urgent. I recall hearing Keep the Car Running on my long, boring, soul-killing commute to work when it came out, and liking it, writing down the name. But the later songs didn't quite have that degree of emotion, I thought. Maybe this new album returns to more of a 'raw'/early style.

Burst Apart is like, the only properly downbeat album I've ever truly loved from start to finish and I'm glad to have seen so many members here mention them!

You are deprived. Just saying. <3

Hehe, to reassure you, I wasn't entirely serious with my comment.

The video is stunning. And the whole thing's so hyped that I almost get Daft Punk comeback vibes from it i.e. please be all over the radio for the rest of the year PLEASE.

My first thought when I heard the song: OH MY GOODNESS, IT'S DAVID BOWIE!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, it has been confirmed that it was David Bowie who provided some vocals in the song. And it's a really good song in general.

Can hear the James Murphy influence straight away but can't hear Bowie at all  Thought it was a bit meh at first but I'm warming to it quickly, still pretty excited for the album either way.

I just picked up a copy of the new album at my local record store and it's the most beautifully packaged vinyl I've seen in a while. Everything is, indeed, reflecting. Kind of like a never ending rainbow.

Listening now, first song is playing. I'll get back later

Reflektor is a really awesome song, nice mix of indie, disco and David Bowie is in it as well!!!! If most (if not all) of the songs even come close to sounding as epic as that then I would definitely but their album.

    SO. YES. IT IS AMAZING

I'm halfway through listening it for the second time and can already say I love it. Favourite songs so far are Reflektor / Normal Person / It's Never Over.
