Since Halloween is around the corner, I want to ask what everyone's favorite scary movie(s). Is there anyone that really creeps you out? I'm freaked out by possession movies such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Conjuring.

1408 will make you think twice about staying alone in a hotel room. Gothika also is creepy. 28 Days Later is pretty good for gore.

I forgot about 1408. That was pretty creepy. And I love both 28 days later and 28 weeks later.

I like the Scream series because it isn't really that scary (or at all), is kind of comical at times, yet are all classics

GOTHIKA was one movie that scared me cause I drove home after watching it and kept seeing people in the road.

    Still love the original HALLOWEEN

For newer movies SINISTER is pretty twisted and scary

Muoi: The Legend of a Portrait (Korean & Vietnamese Horror movie) -

One of my favorite, if you're planning to watch this, get a friend to join you xD
Some scenes will probably traumatize you for a couple of days.

    P/s: It's English subbed btw...

I watched The Ring once. That was enough

  10. Silence of the Lambs
    Human Centipede
    Carrie (1976)

Any horror movie having to relate with religion freaks me out. I think it's the chanting.

Darkness Falls (Definitely in the Top 3 for me.)
The Haunting in Connecticut (Pretty freaky, but really good.)
The Ring (I actually found it pretty humorous, especially when the guy trips with the fire hose, rofl.)
Ginger Snaps (More cool than scary.)
Gothika (Not really scary. But it has a great plot.)
I Am Legend (A great movie if you like vampire-zombie-like-creatures. It also has a wonderful plot.)

Some really good shows are Ghost Adventures, Fact or Faked, Paranormal Witness (a personal favorite), and of course Are You Afraid of the Dark? on Nickelodeon! ^_^

I agree completely. Anything that makes me think like that and makes me paranoid is something I tend to avoid.

I'm terrible at all scary movies! I'm pretty cool and collected irl, but watching horror, I'll jump at anything and grab onto the person next to me XD. Can't think of any that has particularly disturbed me, though I thought "The Strangers" was good only for its plausibility.

Most horror movies = shit, mostly because; shit>Hollywood.

    The only really good ones:
    Rec
    The Tunnel
Grave encounters. The story is bad but the atmosphere is pretty neat. The end was very shite.
    Blair Witch Project
    28 Days Later
Saw 1 & 2 were pretty good, but they are more of the "gore" genre.
Ringu, a.k.a. the original 'The Ring' from Japan is pretty fegging sick.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the original is a must see. Only watching the intro gave me goosebumps.

Lemme rephrase that to fit me:
Any horror movie having to relate with religion makes me cry. I think it's because all of them are so ridiculous.

Just about anything with girl ghosts freaks me out (The Ring, The Eye, A Tale of Two Sisters...) :icon_sad:

Sinister, Paranormal Activity and VHS gave me a few good scares.

Haute Tension (aka High Tension, aka Switchblade Romance) and Antikörper (aka Antibodies, Germany's answer to The Silence of the Lambs) were pretty good.

Cabin in the Woods and American Mary, whilst not the scariest of movies, they are in my opinion two of the best horror movies of the last decade.

Oh, I almost forgot! One of the scariest movies I've seen is The Wendigo. It's actually pretty freaky. Another one that freaked me out is Dolly Dearest. The name says it all. >_>
