Does anyone else like the sound that a record player produces? I mean I think it produces a really cool sound. Not cause of the music quality but the way the music comes out. It's got this funky sound to it. I like it. Makes me wanna shimy?

    Here's an example:

Hahahahaha I so wanna get an old record player and crank some of my dads old records at a party. I really like the sound they make. It'd be so wicked!

That shows the age difference! That's how all our music sounded when I was younger, and I'm pleased to get it now without the pops, clicks and distortion, lack of bass and strained treble. Not to mention the inconvenience of loading them one at a time (or six at a time with an autochanger, then finding they slip).

Hahahaha well I can understand the benefits of mp3's and CD's I'm just saying there is a retro, rustic, scratchy sound to the way record players play their music and I like it, no matter the inconvience they may have.

I have tons of old records from my parents, and I even collect my own. I absolutely love them . I have a big stereo system that I play them on.

However, I do prefer the sound of my i-Pod, but I'll play a vinyl any day.

I found this video of a record changer in action (with different sized records).

Good retro sound there! The last one may be slipping a bit too....

I do have a record player, hooked up to my stereo, and I still have a lot of records. But most of them I've transfered to mp3. Again, just for convenience sake. A lot easier to take the mp3 with me when I walk to work than it is for me to drag the turntable along with me.

I love my LP player. I hardly use it, but if you're really stressed, get a really good chillout folk album, by someone like Voice of the Seven Woods or whatever, on vinyl, put it on, and just sleep to it.
