This video went viral today and it was uploaded a while ago. Not sure if you've seen it but it's a poetry slam that's really inspiring.

Skip to 8 seconds in. Enjoy

    How'd your performance go?

Yeah the part about rainbows and socks were hilarious

Eh Hawaii is over-rated. Fun for vacation that's about it. It's summer year round and is extremely humid.

i did a few at uni when i first started to coe out and was going though a lot of SHIT they went really well but the predominant audience were personal friends from uni comedy soc etc so i fear they may have been bias

i live in manchester its fun and all but it rains- perpetually - sideways and you're hard pressed to find a decent surf spot lol

"Dear queer young girl, I see you. You don't want them to see you so you change the pronouns in your love poems to 'him' instead of 'her.'"

That hit too close to home.

Addressing "straight people" sounds like she's portraying all straight people as homophobes and makes it sound like an us vs them thing. Not really fair considering a lot of straight people I know are pretty chill about gay people.

I liked her message I guess but this bugged me slightly.

To be fair a lot of times she addressed specific people like "straight women" or rappers. I don't know "Dear Homophobes" might not have gotten across as easily.

"Homophobe" is still an extremely clumsy word to use for anti-gays. But there isn't really a better one, and the way she said "straight people" really meant repressive society. Obviously she doesn't hate heteros. The part where she said "I hate closets but you've made the living room a non-shared space." Gold!!!

I thought it was pretty great  I wished she'd slow down, but then the fire would be lost. I would love to see a "traditional" response for the other side of the argument, purely to see how badly it would fail.
