After 17 months and four edits, I've completed my novel. After reading a five chapter sample, a London publishing company have asked for the whole manuscript. A courier is collecting the material tomorrow and will deliver on Monday, so fingers crossed they like it and offer a deal. I have the novel saved as a Word document, so if anyone can PM, I can forward the details I think, unless that's against EC rules? I'd really love to share it and have thoughts. D (&&&)
Awesome! I used to want to be an author but in 8th grade I had to write a 100+ page book for English in three months. It was terrible and I am ashamed of its existence, but I learned that writing a long story was not as easy as I thought and I gained new respect for authors.
That's so incredible! Congratulations on this massive accomplishment. I've been chipping away at one for years, so I know how difficult a task it is. And even more, to have interest from a publisher...phenomenal. If it isn't against the rules, when my full membership comes through, I would love to know more. If it's published, I will definitely buy it.

Heh, I tend to be very proud of my writing, but that assignment would be terrifying! Especially for 8th grade. I shudder to look upon even one word I might have written when I was that age. Congrats, Dan. :eusa_clap Even if the publishers decide they don't like it, just finishing is a major accomplishment.
Congrats. I've written 1 novel, and I made it half way through another one before I had to abandon it. It's a very difficult task, so good going!
Thanks everyone I'm not sure of the best way to forward the Word doc to those who want it, any ideas? I'll post details of what it's about later, as I have to run to a second interview for a job teaching drum kit techniques fingers crossed for that too.
