I know... another David Bowie post. I just can't help myself!

For those of you who are familiar with his music, what is you favorite song by him? Why?

At this point, I would have to say "Ashes To Ashes" for myself because it's just a beautiful song that conveys so much emotion for me.

Magic Dance. I know it's bad, but it's so bad it's good.

    'The laughing gnome', obviously!

But seriously, it'd be between 'Rebel rebel' because right from the off it comes stomping in such a powerful riff and keeps kicking serious ass all the way through (plus there's a bit of the obligatory genderbending), or 'Can't help thinking about me', which is one of his more obscure early songs from 1966, just because it's a cool mod rock song:

I still need to investigate his albums more seriously though, I mostly just know the hits.

'Rebel Rebel' or maybe 'Hang On To Yourself' or 'Kooks'.

I don't think I can pick just one.

It has a good beat and you can dance to it.

    ---

My favorite is Heroes, followed closely by Golden Years.

That has become an inside joke to us Bowie fans... It's so bad, it's good!

Between Space Oddity and Man Who Sold The World for me, there's loads I would be happy to call my favourite though.

    EDIT: Actually, possibly this:

There are so many excellent songs, but whenever China Girl plays, with the cool bass guitar melody, I just love it.

That's really hard! My favorite album is Hunky Dory, so I'll go with Life on Mars.

"Changes". I've always really liked that one. "Space Oddity" is great, too, and though not strictly Bowie (collaboration with Queen), "Under Pressure" is another one I quite like.

    Really Hard

It depends on my mood as well.

I absolutely adore the CD Outside

I find Absolute Beginners powerful, but then again so are many of his songs.

    'Rebel, Rebel' or 'Suffragette City'.

For me, it would probably be Life on Mars. I love that song.
